Dachshunds have to maintain their weight but still love those treats! As soon as we switched to natural treats and those low in sugars/glucose, weight has never been a problem! They cost a little more but the treats last a lot longer and, of course, the health benefits are priceless! |

Before you get a new doxie in your life, make sure it is the best time to take one in. If any of the following have happened in the past six months or may happen in the next six months, consider delaying adoption: divorce, marriage, a move, new baby, longer work hours, ill family member, financial concerns, death or disappearance of a family pet, frequent travel, family vacation, graduation, or busy schedule. Down the road there will always be another chance for a dachshund to warm your home, so wait until the time is just right! |

Hey, they are dachshunds not saint bernards! So many of the treats we have are too big for those little guys. Break the treat in half or even thirds. They still get their special treat but you make the bag last longer and help your doxies stay trim. |

About 2 years ago, we switched to natural dry dog food and will never go back to the other stuff! We switch between Canidae, Nutro Natural, and a couple others. Our doxies love the taste and variety. Plus they eat less and poop less too because there is less waste in the food. |

I don’t know about you, but we hated to brush our girls’ teeth! We found a great product to do it for us—Choice Chews Dental Care Chews. The rawhides smell like mint and keep the dogs teeth so clean our vet thought we brushed them everyday! |
